Our newest product, Silica Gel Small Mix, ideal for drying flowers!
Silica Gel Mix 0.2 – 0.8mm, these fine silica gel beads have a diameter of 0.2 – 0.8mm. The Mix consists of a white and orange bead, the orange beads contain an indicator, which will discolor to green, upon saturation.
They are available in smaller quantities as low as one kilogram. The small grain is extremely suitable for drying flowers.
This size silica gel pellet is not suitable for every application, but is actually very good for drying flowers, for example. Our Silica gel is free of DMF and free of cobalt and therefore non-toxic. The granules have an absorption capacity of about 30% and solve your moisture problem in the short term.
We recommend placing the granules in an airtight container. You can place the flowers or petals on the pellets and even partially cover them with the silica gel (carefully!). Depending on the type of flower you want to dry, you will need more/less silica gel. For example, we see that roses and gerberas contain a lot of moisture and here more silica gel is needed to finally achieve the desired drying result.
Silica Gel Mix 0.2-0.8mm is regenerable in the oven. At a maximum temperature of 80° C, heat the granules in a dish. After 2-3 hours, you can weigh the product to see if it has released the absorbed moisture again.
